Down to the waterline… What could go wrong?
Ever wonder how much stuff, crap, food, beer, and water can get stuffed into a Columbia 24? Here’s a partial list of what edibles went in today and most of the supplies already onboard:
- 48 gallons of water (in 16, 3-gallon Aquabricks*)
- Enough for 1.5-gallons of water per day
- 180 days of breakfast supplies
- 6, 56-oz cans of Nido powdered milk

- Snacks

- 2 pounds of pistachios
- Carbs
- 9-lbs brown Jasmin rice
- 3-lbs quinoa
- 14 cans of beans
- 4 cans of giant beans in tomato sauce
- Alcohol (One beer in the afternoon and one Sundowner, max)

- Nothing yet, but I plan on adding potatoes, red and white onions, some sort of squash, oranges and whatever else I find at a farmer’s market. The Boat Galley* is my reference source for most of these ideas.
- Cooking Supplies; As for cooking, I use a Forespare Mini-Galley 2000 sea-swing stove, a duel-fuel, single burner portable stove*, and a GoSun Sport* stove.
- 36 packets chicken stock
- 14 coconut oil packets for cooking
- 1 jar virgin olive oil
- 1 jar balsamic vinegar
- 1 jar soy sauce
- 4 types of Tobasco sauce
- Mix of spices
More fresh provisions will be bought in Ensenada, Mexico when I clear into the country. I want a 30-day supply so that I don’t have to worry about anything while meandering down Baja’s Pacific coastline.
